Small Mouth Spawning Bench project at Dale Hollow Lake

The MTFF club helped to construct and place fifty plus spawning benches at various locations at Dale Hollow Lake.  This project took place on Saturday morning December 6, 2003 and was a joint effort between the US Army Corp of Engineers, and the MTFF Chapter.  This was the second year for this event.

We stayed at the Cedar Hill Resort and met up on a very cold Saturday morning at the Pleasant Grove Recreation Area.  Then car pooled to the Lillydale access area where me met the barge.   We departed from Lillydale at around 9:15 Saturday morning and spent an enjoyable morning working on the lake and returned to Lillydale around 1:00.

We all convened back at the cabin for warmer temperatures and Chili with all of the fixings, even fished awhile that afternoon.  There was great fellowship had by all who remained at the cabin Saturday night and Sunday morning.  We even got a few flies tied that we put to the test on the Caney Fork Sunday afternoon.

I would like to thank everyone who helped with this project.  I also want to thank the Corp of Engineers at Dale Hollow Lake for allowing us to help out and special thanks to Gregg Nivens for organizing this project.
